1.3 Technical information

Our servers and security systems may receive technical information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, device information, referring page, requested resources, timestamps, and error or diagnostic information. This information may be used for security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting, service operation, and improvement.

2. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

3. Facebook Login

PuzzleWalker provides Facebook Login as an optional method of authenticating a PuzzleWalker account. When you choose "Continue with Facebook", Meta may provide PuzzleWalker with information associated with your Facebook account that is made available through the Facebook Login service and authorized by you.

Depending on what Meta makes available, this may include your name, email address, profile picture, and a unique Facebook/Meta account identifier.

We use information received through Facebook Login to create or identify your PuzzleWalker account, authenticate you, maintain your login session, associate game activity with your account, save and restore unfinished games, maintain scores and rankings, and provide account-related functionality.

PuzzleWalker does not receive or store your Facebook password.

We do not sell information obtained through Facebook Login. Such information may be processed by service providers necessary to operate PuzzleWalker, including authentication, hosting, database, security, and infrastructure providers.

Facebook/Meta authentication is also subject to Meta's applicable terms and privacy practices. See Meta's Privacy Policy.

4. Google Sign-In

If you choose Google Sign-In, Google may provide PuzzleWalker with information authorized by you and made available through Google's authentication service. We use this information to establish and maintain your PuzzleWalker account and authenticated session.

For information about Google's privacy practices, see Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Cookies, Local Storage, and Similar Technologies

PuzzleWalker uses cookies and similar browser technologies for essential functionality, including authentication, session management, security, preferences, and game-related functionality.

PuzzleWalker may also use browser local storage or session storage for features such as temporarily preserving game state or remembering a pending puzzle during authentication.

Third-party services may use their own cookies or similar technologies according to their respective policies.

6. Google Advertising and AdSense

PuzzleWalker may use Google AdSense or other Google advertising services to display advertisements.

When Google advertising is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar identifiers to serve, measure, and personalize advertising, subject to applicable settings, consent requirements, and policies.

Advertising disclosure: Third-party vendors, including Google, may place and read cookies on a user's browser, or use web beacons or IP addresses, as a result of advertising being served on PuzzleWalker.

Some game-related information may be displayed through public or semi-public features such as leaderboards. Depending on the feature, this may include a display name, score, completion time, stars, rating, or puzzle name.

Please avoid using sensitive personal information as a public display name.

9. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain account and game functionality, preserve game history and scoring integrity, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and protect the security of the service.

10. Data Deletion and Account Removal

When we receive and verify a deletion request, we will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize personal information associated with the account, subject to information that we are required or permitted to retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or other legitimate purposes.

Deleting your account may permanently remove saved games, game history, scores, leaderboard information, and other account-associated data.

11. Removing Facebook Authorization

You may remove PuzzleWalker's authorization through the account settings provided by Facebook/Meta. Removing Facebook authorization may prevent Facebook from being used to authenticate you, but it does not necessarily delete information already associated with your PuzzleWalker account.

To delete your PuzzleWalker account and associated information, follow the Data Deletion Instructions.

12. Children's Privacy

PuzzleWalker is a general-audience educational and entertainment website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable children's privacy laws.
